The K20C1 Turbo engine as found in the 2015-2017 FK2 and 2017 on FK8 Honda Civic Type R has proven to  be pretty reliable so far.

Now that the platform has been around for a while, and new upgrades have been steadily released

 over the years, many owners have taken to modifying the engine to extract more power.

At the core of engine upgrades is the Cylinder Head Gasket.

The gasket’s responsibility is to ensure a good seal between the cylinder block and Cylinder Head.

The OEM Head Gasket on the K20C1 is a normal 3

 layer bead type head gasket.

This means that the head gasket contains three layers of flat metal with a sealing coating on the outer surfaces.

After many customer requests, we have developed a performance upgrade head gasket for the K20C1 Engines.

Our solution is a stopper type head gasket, with enhanced outer surface coating.

Stopper Type head gaskets contain a folded metal middle layer, which compresses when tightened to ensure a strong seal.

These head gaskets assure a strong and reliable seal even with increased power outputs.

Surface coatings on head gaskets are used to seal the head and the block even when minute surface imperfections exist, and also to improve the thermal conductivity of the head gasket.

These headgaskets use a proprietary blend of elastomers to perfect sealing and conductivity.
